RCAF Military Service
WO1 George V. Boudreau
R124758
1920 - 1977
Official RCAF photograph.

All servicemen had an official photograph taken before being sent overseas. The 'Wings' below the photograph came from George's dress uniform.
A wonderful memorial written and painted by Dave Keddy of Yarmouth.
Below is a transcript of the poem. It is a bit difficult to read it in the image.

Spirit on High

He went off to war and did what he had to do
To make this world free for me and for you
Leaving behind those of family and of friends
To fly his Spitfire in a Nation's defence
Time and time again, out on missions he flew
Wth others of his squadron, all of which he knew
Then of that day, the telegram his family read
Missing in action was all that it said
Two months he gave of his life in the waiting of time
Because his plane went down behind enemy lines
The war had ended, became part of the past
But the memories of his mind would always last
He is gone now but his spirit will always (be) near
But now with the wings of (an) angel in the Kingdom of the Lord
